Using your Imagi Playset

Kicking your imagination into gear isn't always easy, and children sometimes need a bit of help too! Here’s a fun guide to kick off your adventure with the playsets:

1. Gather Your Play Squad

Round up your child’s favourite figurines, animals, teddies, cars, dinosaurs, trains etc. They’ll be the stars of the show!

2. Team Up for Setup

Dive into the action together! Help your child create a fantastic world with the playset. Set them up in whatever way you like, Get creative - it’s all about having fun! Let them tell you where to put things, and help them slot it all together

3. Spin Wild Tales

Start crafting an exciting story together! Let your imagination run wild as you bring the playset to life with thrilling adventures. If it helps, ask the child questions like "what adventure shall we go on today?" or "who do you want to be the superhero today?" or "does anybody in your town need some help today?". We've put some fun short stories together to get you started.

4. Unleash the Fun

After a bit of storytelling, let your child take the reins. Watch as they dive into their own magical worlds filled with laughter and creativity! Get ready for endless fun and imaginative time. Time to go and get yourself a hot drink and put your feet up for a bit!

Here are 10 imaginative play scenarios for the Imagi Playset—each crafted to spark creative storytelling, encourage collaboration between adults and children, and eventually empower kids to take the lead:

1. The Missing Birthday Parade 🎈

​Setup: Mrs. Patel is planning a surprise birthday parade for her daughter.
Starter Prompt: “She forgot her colourful banners and balloons! Who can help find decorations around town?”
Goal: Let the child invite townsfolk (figures) and assign them to different decoration tasks. Maybe they need to make new banners for the town?

2. The Rainy-Day Rescue ☔

Setup: It’s pouring, and the town’s pet shelter is flooded.
Starter Prompt: “All the animals need dry blankets and food—who should deliver them before it gets worse?”
Goal: Encourage child-led problem-solving: setting up routes, rescue squads, and shelter spaces. Put rainy music on to create an atmosphere.

3. Space Station Exhibition 🚀

Setup: The local museum is launching a new space exhibit but all the model rockets are missing.
Starter Prompt: “Dr. Langford needs parts to build the rockets—who in the town has what he needs?”
Goal: The child chooses suppliers, builds rockets, and puts on a mini exhibition.

4. The Cake Mix-Up  🍰

Setup: At V's cafe the cake labels all got mixed up before the big cake tasting event!
Starter Prompt: “How can the town taste-testers help sort the flavours before the mayor arrives?”
Goal: Child orchestrates a taste-test panel, organises flavours, and gets the cakes ready for the event.

5. The Band Stand Show 🎭

Setup: The town is hosting a magical puppet show by the band stand, but the puppets are lost.
Starter Prompt: “Who can create new puppets from materials around town?”
Goal: Child collects materials, crafts puppets, and directs the show.

6. The Great Garden Grow-Off 🌱

Setup: The community garden contest begins but no seeds have been planted yet.
Starter Prompt: “Who will donate seeds, tools, and help plant before the judges arrive?”
Goal: Child chooses gardeners, assigns plots, tracks growth and harvest.

7. The Broken Bridge Bridge 🛠️

Setup: A small bridge (perhaps a rail bridge if your have a trainset!) near the pond has collapsed.
Starter Prompt: “We need materials and builders—who can supply wood, nails, or engineering skills?”
Goal: Child becomes site manager: sources resources, recruits builders, organizes shifts. Use a model train set if you have one, or build one out of cardboard. 

8. The Lost Toy Detective 🕵️

Setup: A beloved teddy bear in town has gone missing.
Starter Prompt: “Who might have seen it? Can we question folks around town?”
Goal: Child leads detective play: collects clues, interviews figures, and reunites teddy and child.

9. The Music Festival Mix 🎶

Setup: The annual talent show starts tomorrow, but no one has signed up yet!
Starter Prompt: “Who in town plays drums, guitar, or sings? Who can dance? Who has a special talent?
Goal: Child organises rehearsals, assigns performers, and runs opening night.

10. The Camping Trip 🌌

Setup: The town is going on an overnight camping trip but tents and camping gear are missing!
Starter Prompt: “Who has sleeping bags, torches, or marshmallows to share?”
Goal: Child plans camping logistics: gear distribution, meal plans, route to campsites. Maybe they need to build a campsite using pillows, sheets and torches for the townsfolk?
